Knife sharpeners

Depending on your personal preference, you can use a sharpening steel, a whetting stone or a professional knife sharpener to keep your F. DICK knives sharp. All are suitable for both European and Asian blade shapes. Do you find sharpening steels too complicated and difficult? Are you not always satisfied with the results you get with a sharpening steel?

Then we have various alternatives to sharpening steel for you. With our knife sharpeners, you can achieve a perfect cutting edge and a sharp knife without much practice. And always with the same result. Thanks to the bending and positioning of the sharpening rods, the optimum sharpening angle is already predefined, and the entire knife edge is always resharpened at the same time. You do not have to determine and control the bracket yourself as you do with the sharpening steel or whetting stone and alternately sharpen the right and left side of the cutting edge.

The ultimate knife test – by pulling the knife through the gap in the knife sharpener several times, your knife will quickly and easily become sharp again. You can use a ripe tomato to check whether a knife is sufficiently sharp. A knife that is still sharp will cut into the skin of a tomato without requiring any great effort. If this does not happen, it is time to re-sharpen the knife. We recommend sharpening the knife before or after each use. Do not wait until you feel that your knife is no longer sharp. After all, it's only fun to work with sharp knives: the knife glides effortlessly through the food to be cut, produces a beautiful cut pattern and the risk of injury is reduced.

Our knife sharpener, often called “click-clack” by butchers, is used to keep the knife edge sharp and to straighten and hone it. The more often you sharpen your knives with the knife sharpener, the longer they will stay sharp with maximum edge retention. The knives can be resharpened longer with the knife sharpener so that they need to be resharpened less often with professional grinding machines.
