The perfect symbiosis of craftsmanship and creativity

The "Junge Wilde" chefs (“young wild ones”) and Friedr. Dick have a lot in common. When it comes to the dishes of the Junge Wilden, it is important to work thoroughly and precisely. Every move must be perfect and every detail is enormously important. The same applies to the production of professional knives. Precise work, with great attention to detail, makes every knife something special. Yet innovation and creativity are also needed to continually break new ground.

From over 2,500 applications, the best young chefs are selected to compete in an exciting pre-final and then cook for one of three places in the final. Friedr. Dick is already at the side of these up-and-coming talents before the official start of the pre-final. A personalised F. DICK chef's knife accompanies the pre-finalists on their quest and supports them in all their challenges in the kitchen. And there are quite a few of those with the Junge Wilde chefs. To convince the jury, a creative and delicious three-course menu has to be cooked from one familiar and one unfamiliar shopping basket.

It goes without saying that we will not miss either the pre-final or the grand final! We'll be there live to advise on all aspects of cutting and sharpening and, of course, we'll also provide spontaneous support with a kitchen helper or two.


The winner can expect not only fame and glory with the title “Young Wild One”, but also a cover story in ROLLING PIN magazine and an internship with one of the best chefs in the world.
